Kentish Town Sports Centre

Grafton Road, London NW5

Consultant : Max Fordham
Contractor : Norstead Mechanical

Camden is one of only a small number of local authorities who have decided to bring old Victorian swimming pools back to life rather than to build new. This £25.3million refurbishment of the Kentish Town Sports Centre is a testament to this decision.

The finished project has revitalised the original Willes pool and restore its Victorian roof. As well as provide a new Grafton pool, a new teaching pool and new fitness, dance & health studios.

Max Fordham’s design specified BACnet packaged plant wherever possible such as in four special Menerga AHUs, the Chillers and the Ground Source Heat Pump system. So an open protocol Trend BMS was used to integrate between all these BACnet systems.

Seven main control panels with IQ3 controllers monitor and control almost 600 DDC points, with additional BACnet integration via Trend TOPS to bring a further 150 virtual points back to the Trend 963 Supervisor.
